• Question: Will there be a point where parts of London become underwater, due to global warming and polar ice melt?

      It depends on how global warming will speed up the process of the ice caps melting but if they were to melt, the sea would rise by about 260 feet and london would certainly not be there any more!

      As Rebecca says, it is quite likely, whether it will be in 100 or 1000 years from now is less clear. We’d better start building some flood defences soon.

      This is one of the many reasons I live several hundred feet above sea level…
