• Question: Why are there Planets when no one lives or goes to them?

      In just the last few years, the number of planets that we know about has grown from just the 8 in our solar system to now 1,000s, most of which are orbit around other stars – we call these exo-planets. About 50 of these are ‘earth-like’ and so might be habitable. We now believe that there are planets around most of the stars in our galaxy (billions of stars), and there are billions of galaxies. Perhaps on some of these planets there are other civilisations that we might one day be able to communicate with!
