The first time I got a research grant awarded with myself as Principle Investigator (that’s the term for the lead scientist on a research project). The reviewers who looked at our application gave us full marks and said we were the “A-team” in this area. Nothing like a good report card to make you happy!

      Hi Molly,
Thanks for that question! I think there are a lot: getting my first job, seeing my students graduate (which is just amazing), having my first article published. I’m actually having one of the most exciting moments in my career this week: On Friday I’m hosting my very first academic conference, and 120 linguists and language teachers from the UK and many other countries in the world will be there. I’m starting to get a tiny bit nervous – wish me luck 😉
