• Question: what makes a sucessful parasite ,as in what parasite is best at colonising, breeding surviving ect

      It depends on what kind of parasite you are interested in as there are a lot of different ways that parasites infect. Normally though a successful parasite will:
      – be quite hardy and able to survive in the animal it infects
      – have an easy pathway for the eggs and/or offspring to leave the infected animal
      – be able to find a new host easily
      – enter the host easily without doing too much damage
      – not kill the host so it is able to reproduce inside
