• Question: what is the avarage salary for a scientist

      It probably depends a bit on what field you work in and whether it’s for a university or in private R&D. There is some data from New Scientist here:

      In short, the money is not bad. Probably not as good as working for an investment bank, but then you get to do something that you love, and is (hopefully) useful!

      Fully agree with Iain. It depends on the field and your position but the money is not bad, and it’s great to be paid for doing something you enjoy 🙂

      I agree with Iain and Sasha – the money largely depends on your experience, education (MSc, PhD, post docs, etc.), the area of science you are working in (e.g. biochemistry, nuclear physics, genetics, space science, etc.) and where you work (e.g. academia, government institution, research facility, industry).
