      Let’s start with the Earth’s mass (how much matter there is). This is measured at around 6×10^24 kg – 6 million billion billion kilograms!

      Weight is actually the force on a mass due to Gravity. On the ground gravity is approximately the same wherever you are, so we tend to use Weight and Mass interchangeably. If you go into orbit, you become weightless (but not massless).
