      There are a number of ways, for example by eating enough and healthily (especially eat breakfast, make sure your diet is balanced, and eat healthy fats), being active and exercising, and sleeping sufficiently. Certain sorts of tea (especially green tea) are known for increasing your metabolism, too.

      In addition to what Sascha has already pointed out, it might be a good idea to check what is your metabolic type as each person has a slightly different metabolism. For example, some people have no problems digesting carbs and they will be slim and fit, whether others would only put on weight and should focus their diet around proteins and good fats.
