There is no one single ‘silver bullet’ cure for cancer. Most cancers are different, depending on where they occur in the body, when they are diagnosed, and the exact physiology of the person unfortunate enough to have cancer. What is most promising right now is that we have a range of treatments (chemo, radio, surgical), but using advanced medical imaging, genetic information, and computer modelling, doctors will be able to produce a ‘personalised medicine’ treatment plan that is tailored to you, rather than something which works well on average. Once this is fully developed it will radically increase survival rates for all kinds of cancers.
