• Question: How can chameleons change colour?

      That’s a really good question! I’ve done a bit of research and it turns out that chameleons can change colour by adjusting a special layer of cells within their skin. By relaxing or tensing their skin, they are able to structurally change the arrangement of these cells and this affects how light can reflect off of their skin, resulting in a colour change. Pretty cool, huh?!

      Hayley’s explained it well but did you also know that chameleons change colour to blend into their background and hide from predators but also to attract females!
