• Question: Do you think that time travel can lead to happiness, therefore developing the world on a global scale? What is happiness caused by? I was told it was a factor for development in geography

It is true that there does seem to be a relation between happiness and development. If people are happy, they are generally more motivated, do better work, support each other, they tend to be more healthy, have more children, and so on – so being happy does have a lot of advantages and helps making progress. There is a good article in the Guardian on this topic: http://www.theguardian.com/global-development-professionals-network/2013/sep/03/happiness-economics-wellbeing-mdgs
However, I am not sure if time travel can lead to happiness, although it would make me personally very happy if I were able to travel in time. 😉

I think there at least a one-way linkage between ‘development’ (not sure how that is measured) and happiness (also not sure how it’s measured!). Happy people are more productive, not sure if there is any evidence that people in ‘developed’ countries are any happier than those in less developed countries, with the obvious exception of those suffering famine, war etc.

How time travel will help, I guess we need to wait for someone to come back from the future and tell us if it does…
