A size of a bladder doesn’t differ much between various people but it can expand quite conciderably. So even though the average volume is around a pint, a bladder has the capacity to expland to twice its size. There are a lot of common myths. For example, it is one of the common myths that a woman’s bladder is smaller than a man’s BUT they are slightly different in shape due to the differences in anatomy between men and women. Since in women the bladder is pushing against a number of reproductive organs this can cause discomfort quicker and thus the need to go to a toilet would occur more often. In men, the bladder is resting quite comfortably thus the discomfort is less of a problem.
