• Question: Which part of the brain do we use to learn languages?

      That’s a fantastic question. We don’t have a definite answer yet, it seems to be a very complex process in which many different parts of the brain are involved. We believe that the left hemisphere of the brain is more engaged when we learn a language than the right hemisphere. There are two parts of the left hemisphere which seem to be particularly significant: the Broca area and the Wernicke area (you can see where they are located in this picture http://www.nidcd.nih.gov/health/voice/pages/aphasia.aspx). They seem to be very important to processing and learning languages. However, both hemispheres and their interaction with each other seem to play a part.
