That’s a really interesting question! I did a little bit of reading about this, and it seems that the brain has to be kept under very strict temperature regulation to function properly (especially the core of the brain). Temperature is regulated by the flow of blood around the brain, which carries heat from one location to another.
So basically the answer is yes, if the temperature of the brain becomes too hot or too cold for any significant length of time it will do you a lot of harm, and possibly kill you!
