Question: Do you think we can change everybody's blood type to AB+ so that they can receive all the blood types?

That would be really great (and what a fantastic idea!) – unfortunately, I do not think we can change people’s blood type, though.

Hi Rohini, well you have to remember that a person’s blood type is determined largely by genetics, and it doesn’t change throughout your life time. I’m not an expert here but perhaps if you had a full blood transfusion or a bone marrow transplant. Apparently there are examples of patients developing their donor’s blood type as a result of transplant.
