Question: why do boys have nipples
human, human biology, nipple
Asked by @jess.smallx to Iain on 19 Jun 2015.
answered on 19 Jun 2015:
Not sure, I guess they must develop quite early on in our development as an embryo, or somehow be connected to another major bodily system that is shared between male and female. Can you tell I’m not a biologist?
Rebecca commented on 21 Jun 2015:
Everyone actually begins life in the womb as a female and so develop nipples. However, by day 60 the male hormone testosterone kicks in and males develop their male characteristics but the nipples are there to stay!
